The Gallery

In normal times The Gallery at Parndon Mill presents a series of exhibitions each lasting about six weeks. These display a wide variety of paintings, original prints, sculpture and skilled craftwork, including an annual exhibition of works of art in glass by some of the best artists in this popular medium.

The aim is to bring artwork out of the studio to the attention of a wider audience and to further this The Gallery plays an active part in the Harlow community, promoting the visual arts.

It had to be closed for lockdown in March 2020 but as restrictions eased this year an Offline Exhibition of paintings, prints, sculpture and crafts was opened in July to be viewed by appointment. It is now planned to resume regular exhibitions which will include private views starting with RE-EMERGENCE opening on 9th September.

This in situ exhibition is of paintings, prints, sculpture and crafts by our resident artists and other regular exhibitors, and includes some of the pieces which are featured in our online gallery. There are delightful landscapes and seascapes to be seen which contrast with some very colourful abstract paintings, along with intriguing prints. Sculpture by John Farnham, Gerda Rubinstein and Christy Symington and many lovely pieces of glass and ceramics make this an enjoyable exhibition to view. Any purchases can be taken home at the time of the visit.

A wide selection of works by artists who have studios here and regular exhibitors at The Gallery includes paintings, prints, sculpture and many different crafts in a variety of media. It is a pleasure to look at and all the exhibits can be purchased and can be collected or delivered to your home within a few days.

This is an exhibition, Joy in Bloom, of floral art by artists who each have a very different approach to the beauty of flowers. It is an interesting display of talent in various media and a delight to view during this summer
All the works are for sale and most of the artists are willing to accept commissions.

RE-EMERGENCE the first in the series of our regular scheduled exhibitions, presents an exhibition of work by book and paper artist, Jo Howe and mixed media abstract painter, Caroline Lumb exploring the notion of Re-emergence. The work culminates with different approaches, at the same time complementing each other's practice.

This exhibition will be followed by our usual Christmas show, Present Arts, a mixed display of works of art with the emphasis the affordable. This exhibition is a feast for the eye and is a great opportunity to acquire a unique and special present, something new for the home, individual cards, or even hand made decorations for the Christmas tree.

Please make the effort. I am sure you would enjoy a trip to the mill and we would be so pleased to see you.
