Borehole Appeal 2019

Parndon Mill launches Borehole Appeal to stop the creativity drying up.

Parndon Mill is Harlow’s creative hub, providing affordable studio space for artists, makers, and all manner of creatives, as well as facilitating art classes, running a regular series of art exhibitions in its gallery space, and maintaining the iconic Grade 2 listed mill itself.

Parndon Mill depends on water for its artists, students and gallery visitors, as well as for events like exhibitions and Open Studios. Without water, Harlow’s creative hub would literally dry up.

Unfortunately, Parndon Mill is not connected to mains water and relies on an increasingly unreliable well. With a falling water table, we are in serious danger of having to cancel events like Open Studios and classes, and perhaps even close the Mill itself.

The solution is a bore hole. With the drilling, pumps and filtering equipment, together with a licence to draw water from it, this project will cost £20,000. As a registered charity we receive no government funding, so we rely on public donations to keep our creative juices flowing.

Parndon Mill have already received a generous donation of £2,000 from to kick off proceedings and are now looking to raise the remaining £18,000.

Any amount you can give, no matter how small, will help us towards our goal to maintain Parndon Mill as Harlow’s creative oasis.

Please donate as generously as you can at
