I was born in Cookham, Berkshire and moved to St Albans when I was 7. My parents then moved to South Cambridgeshire when I was 18.  When I was 21 I moved back to St Albans, before moving to Hertford in 1989 where I have lived ever since.  Following many years under the excellent tuition of Roger Jeffs in the Project Space I became fully part of the Parndon Mill community in 2019 when I took over the lease of the Chimney Studio. In July 2020 I moved to a larger studio in the Mill building.

Turned off art at school, sadly I have never pursued a formal qualification but I have endeavoured to develop my skills by attending classes and workshops in various places such as Courtyard Arts, Hertford Regional College, Parndon Mill and St Albans Art College.

My paintings are based on observations of still life.  I work mostly in acrylic, although I plan to return to oils now that I have a larger studio space.

My textiles are based on a theme or idea.  More recently I have been studying the geology and fossils of the British Isles which culminated in a solo exhibition at Courtyard Arts in October 2018.  This exhibition, Gryphaea and Friends, went on to be shown at The Geological Society of London in February 2020. I will continue to pursue this fascinating subject with the support and encouragement of geologist Dr Bryan Lovell.

I also take commissions for decorative quilts such as baby play mats, cot and bed quilts. These are unique and personalised.

I have exhibited work at Courtyard Arts Centre (group show 2014 and solo show 2018), Gravelly Barn (2013), Harlow Playhouse (2017), Hertford Theatre Gallery (2016), Parndon Mill (2015), County Hall, Hertford (Threads of Time 2014), the NEC Festival of Quilts (2016) and Stevenage Museum (Threads of Time on tour) (2015).
