Caroline Avey

Tactile and sensual - that's the beauty of working in clay.  I work mainly using paperclay and porcelain casting slip. I am inspired by the curvilinear forms of the female body. I predominantly make use of hand building and mould making techniques. My forms continue into textile art, adding fragility and femininity.

I have a HND in Fine Art from Hertford Regional College and a degree in Art History from Manchester University.
I have taken part in three Gravelly Barn exhibitions. http://www.gravellybarn.com

I share a ceramics studio with two fellow practitioners at Parndon Mill, Harlow, and have exhibited in the Parndon Mill Gallery.  My work is also on show in galleries in Buntingford and Somerset.
