My work is concerned with the inevitable transience of existence in which nothing that exists can be truly permanent. The environment, both natural and man-made, is always fluid as is humankind passing through it. In the works from the Granada region of Spain, and Sicily the paint depicts the fluidity of the physical environment: land masses that will change with the seasons and millennia, and that are never the same even between the stroke of a brush. Since graduating in Fine Art I have worked from studios in Hertford and, since 2006, as a Fellow with Digswell Arts Trust at Fairlands Valley Farmhouse, Stevenage I have exhibited locally and nationally including the Royal Academy of Art, and the Royal College of Art as a 'Hunting Art Prize' finalist. |

This collection of new work represents my response to a passion, held since childhood, for the diversity of form, colour and texture in the natural world. "Outcrop" as a title may provide a clue as to why I have sought expression for these sculptures which combine complementary geometric shapes and organic forms. |
